For the second collection of the Jim Thompson x Shone Puipia collaboration, Spring/Summer 2021, Shone was interested to explore a more graphical approach in both the cut and fabric design. Kimono coats and cocktail dresses utilized patchwork in the construction to play with the lines of the fabrics. Woven jacquard stripes are pieced together with solid silks, creating another dimension of stripes that spiraled around the body.

Shone also introduced the idea of collage into the collection, another prominent aspect in his work. Floral designs were created from collages of printed origami papers. The artwork is later translated as a monochromatic blue silk jacquard with varying depths and shades. The collection’s bold colours in primary shades of red, blue, and black give that contemporary and youthful elegance to the Jim Thompson women.
